Bailey Edwards, son of actor and director Anthony Edwards has announced his lead role in independent psychological thriller, “M.O.M.” (Mothers of Monsters). The film is about a single mother who suspects her son is a psychopath capable of murder. When he slips through the cracks of the system she is forced to take matters into her own hands.

Independent feature film “M.O.M.” (Mothers of Monsters) has been announced, with a lead role being played by Bailey Edwards, Anthony Edwards’ son. This is a breakout role for Bailey Edwards and he is determined to be a self-made actor, which can be challenging with a famous father.

Bailey was quoted saying, “I realized about half way through the audition process that the producers had no idea Anthony Edwards was my dad and because it can sometimes be rare to be seen just as me I decided to keep it to myself for the rest of the chemistry tests. It wasn’t until after I was offered the part that I finally brought it up and the fact that they didn’t know gave me much more ownership over the role.”

The film has a very relevant social theme, especially considering the recent momentum of the “enough is enough” movement. M.O.M. wrapped principal photography the same week as the tragic Parkland Florida school shooting and is currently in post-production, seeking distribution.

Mothers of Monsters is the first directing project of Tucia Lyman who has 15 years of experience writing and directing programs seen on Discovery Channel, TLC, Syfy, National Geographic, Destination America and the Travel Channel. For the making of M.O.M. she teamed up with a powerhouse of like-minded women to tackle the difficult subject matter of the film.

Her goal with this project is to tap into the younger audience and hopefully give them a good movie experience as well as to keep the conversation going about gun violence, school shootings and stigma surrounding mental health in America.

The recently released trailer and information on how to get involved with the distribution of this project can be found at the link above.

PHILADELPHIA — Elton Brand is in charge of the Philadelphia 76ers. A person familiar with the situation says the Sixers have made Brand their new general manager, replacing Bryan Colangelo. Colangelo resigned in June as the 76ers' president of basketball operations after what an investigation concluded was "careless and in some instances reckless" sharing of sensitive team information on Twitter. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Tuesday because the move had not been officially announced. Brand is expected to be introduced at a news conference on Thursday. Brand had worked for the Sixers as vice...

Sep 19, 2018

PHILADELPHIA — Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz are expected this season to join Philadelphia's Big Three. No, not as franchise cornerstones — the No. 1 draft picks were already part of that trio with All-Star center Joel Embiid. But as long-distance shooters, Simmons and Fultz went 0 for the season on 3s; Simmons, the NBA rookie of the year, missed all 11 attempts and Fultz went 0 for 1 from 3-point range. Sixers coach Brett Brown said both players have put in the work needed on their jumpers, though neither player will ever become defined by his work beyond the...

Sep 19, 2018

CHERAW, S.C. — South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster's flight over soggy parts of the state Monday turned from an observation trip to a rescue mission when he spotted two people stranded atop a flooded vehicle, surrounded by water rushing into the area from Florence. Flying with a South Carolina National Guard crew in a Blackhawk helicopter, the governor was taking a swing around Chesterfield and Marlboro counties when he pointed out of the helicopter at the men, who at first looked like they were floating in a red raft. But, as the crew swung in for a closer look, McMaster...
