Online Diamond and Jewellery Company - ZCOVA, Raises RM1 Million in Seed Funding Led by NEXEA

Kuala Lumpur, Sep 29, 2020 (Issuewire.com) - NEXEA Angels Sdn Bhd (NEXEA), a Malaysian Venture Capital firm, has just closed a funding round of RM 1Million for ZCOVA, a fast-growing jewellery and diamond company. The financing will be used to fund the expansion of the business as well as on all efforts to modernise the way diamonds and gemstones are purchased via online-retail.

Founded in 2015, ZCOVA is reshaping the jewellery shopping experience as the only company in Malaysia and Singapore that offers dual-certified (GIA & GemEx) diamonds at a near-wholesale price to the burgeoning gem-market through its online store. ZCOVA aims to provide a transparent transaction chain through the removal of middlemen in the diamond industry supply chain. The firm's in-house jewellery consultants work on a zero-commission policy, which enables them to focus directly on customer needs and interests - placing the customer above all else in their quest to find unique gems that suit their patrons best.

"We see a very strong team within ZCOVA and that gives us a lot of confidence in the company's growth ahead. On top of that, we also see an excellent exit opportunity for both us and ZCOVA. NEXEA believes that ZCOVA is on the right path to disrupt the traditional diamond market. When customers no longer see the reason to pay a premium for the same diamond they can get on ZCOVA's platform - brick and mortar stores will soon meet their obsolescence." - Ben Lim, Managing Partner, Nexea Angels.

ZCOVA's revenues saw an increase of 30% in the month of June coming out strong on the tail-end of the MCO as compared to pre-MCO. Moreover, the firm is looking at strong Y-O-Y growth for FY21&22 as they expand their operations to Singapore, vying for a top spot at the growing south-east Asian financial hub.

"As we are approaching a new era of technological convenience, shoppers are making more convenient purchases online. We've seen very positive outcomes not only from Malaysians, but also from the neighbouring countries such as Singapore, Brunei, and other countries across Southeast Asia. Being the only company that certifies diamonds under GemEx Certificate in Singapore and Malaysia, ZCOVA can assure in bringing straight forward information and quality assurance to SEA shoppers. With our experience and competitive advantage, we believe shoppers will be more inclined to seek our exceptional services." - Ziwei, Co-Founder, ZCOVA.

Oturu scores 30 as Minnesota beats No. 19 Michigan 75-67

Oct 24, 2020

MINNEAPOLIS — Daniel Oturu shook off an injury and had a career game to help Minnesota take down another ranked opponent. Oturu scored a career-high 30 points and the Gophers went on a late 11-0 run to beat No. 19 Michigan 75-67 on Sunday. The sophomore center had 20 points in a dominant first half, and he continued his roll with six quick points after the break. But with 14:35 remaining, he hit the deck hard while fighting for a rebound. He stayed on the floor for nearly five minutes, clutching his left shoulder as a hush fell over the...

Bey scores 33, leads No. 16 Villanova past Georgetown 80-66

Oct 24, 2020

PHILADELPHIA — Saddiq Bey hit eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 33 points to lead No. 16 Villanova to an 80-66 win over Georgetown on Saturday. Bey, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, hadn't been much of a 3-pointer shooter this season for the Wildcats (12-3, 3-1 Big East). He'd made only 21 and four of those came in a nonconference game against Ohio. He shot just 3-for-10 overall in a win this week at Creighton, hardly a sign he was about to bust out with a career game against the Hoyas (11-6, 1-3). Left open, and determined to shoot, Bey had...

Former UConn coach Jim Calhoun earns 900th career win

Oct 24, 2020

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Jim Calhoun’s 900th win looked like so many others during a Hall of Fame coaching career. He stomped. He screamed. He slammed objects. The only real difference is the sideline he now controls. The longtime Connecticut coach added another milestone Friday night when the University of Saint Joseph beat Pratt Institute 105-61. Now in his second season coaching in Division III, Calhoun joined Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim and Bob Knight — all former rivals and national champions at college basketball’s highest level — as the only coaches to coach at least 10 seasons in Division I...

Stewart leads way in Washington's 72-40 blowout of USC

Oct 24, 2020

SEATTLE — After a lackluster thud to begin Pac-12 Conference play, Washington rebounded with its biggest conference blowout in nearly a decade. Isaiah Stewart scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, Quade Green added 14 points and Washington rebounded from a loss to open conference play with a 72-40 romp over Southern California on Sunday night. Stewart was again dominant on the interior despite sitting the final 9 minutes of the first half with foul trouble. The freshman post was 6-of-12 shooting and had two of Washington’s 12 blocked shots. Fellow freshman Jaden McDaniels added 11 points despite an off...

Oct 24, 2020

LOS ANGELES — Jae Crowder scored 27 points and the Memphis Grizzlies took advantage of Los Angeles star Paul George's absence to rout the Clippers 140-114 on Saturday. Jaren Jackson Jr. added 24 points, and Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks had 22 points each to help Memphis improve to 7-10 on the road with its highest scoring game of the season. Montrezl Harrell led the Clippers with 28 points, and Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams added 24 points each. The team appeared out of sorts from the start without George. He sat out with left hamstring tightness and Los Angeles...
